About Roger Myers - Founder & Craftsman
Some people find their calling early in life. Others spend decades in pursuit of excellence before returning to it.
Roger's story is the latter — and his furniture is richer for it.
Before the quiet of the workshop came a career spanning continents. As a senior executive with a major global corporation, Roger traveled the world, leading with the analytical rigor of an engineer and the strategic vision of a Cornell MBA. It was a life well-lived. But something endured beneath it all — a lifelong devotion to wood, to craft, to the particular satisfaction of making something that will outlast its maker.
Upon retiring, Roger didn't slow down. He applied to one of the most demanding furniture programs in the country — the acclaimed North Bennet Street School in Boston — and earned his place there. What emerged from that crucible was a craftsman whose work carries both the discipline of a seasoned executive and the soul of a true artisan.
Today, from his studio on the New Hampshire Seacoast, Roger creates custom furniture for discerning clients across the United States and abroad. His pieces are distinguished by an obsessive attention to detail: hand-crafted decorative bandings, joinery executed with engineering precision, and exceptional woods chosen for their character as much as their beauty. Among his most beloved signatures is the music stand inlay — a passage of the client's favorite music, rendered in wood, built into the desk of each stand. It is the kind of touch that transforms a fine object into a deeply personal one.
The wider craft community has taken notice. Roger has served as Chairman of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters — one of the most respected organizations in American studio furniture — and as Past Chair of the American Furniture Masters Institute. He is a Past President of the Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers, a Juried Member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, and a Life Member of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers. These are not honorary titles. They reflect decades of peer recognition, organizational leadership, and an abiding commitment to elevating the craft itself — not only through the work made in his studio, but through the community built around it.
Roger also serves on the faculty of the Homestead Woodworking School, where he teaches select classes and workshops throughout the year.
This is furniture made to be handed down. Made to hold memories. Made, above all, to last.
